Dear ladies and gentlemen,

My name is Julia Hans, born on Sep. 19, 1976 in Hadamar, Germany. At the
time  being I am a student in the 5 th term at Erfurt Technical College,
department
of conservation and restauration with the specialization on wall-paintings,
architecture and room mounting. During the 7 th term I am supposed to do
some practical studies as a preparation for my thesis being under
consideration in term 8.
This period of practical studies should last for six months and should be
stayed between August 1, 2002 and February 2003.
My work should be concentrated on the following tasks:
- working on a object of wall-painting or the mosaic,
- working or cooperating in the preparation of a concept of conservation and
restauration for an object of wall-painting or mosaic.
The work should have a demand for scientific as well as art-historical
aspects and this be the basis for my envisioned thesis. For detailled
information confer my curriculum vitae and records of my former activities
practical and theoretical in the field of conservation and restauration. If
my application appeals to you, I will be glad to send you all my
testimonials.
I will be glad answering your questions about the regulations of my College
concerning these practical studies. You find my telephone number in the
letter head. If you like, a personal interview will be possible for me as
well. As I have to report to my professor about the job in practical studies
before May 2002 and get his official approval I would be glad to hear from
you  before the end of April 2002.
My personal reasons to apply for practical studies abroad are:
- that also in the field of conservation and restauration the exchange of
experience on an international level will be essential in the future,
- that during my jobs in foreign countries I could take a lot of valuable
experience in comparing different theoretical and practical
approaches/methods.
