I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment.   The trick is finding a
medium which allows people to explore the research aspects of museums
while simultaneously enjoying the exhibition aspects.  I have my own ideas
about what medias are effective in this regard.
 
I do think this arbitrary division promotes ideas that are very dangerous,
including a belief by the general public that scientists have all
the answers or cannot be wrong.
