Colleen,

I had two thoughts in response to your post that might help.  My first
question was "Who is your audience?"  If you decide who you're trying to
serve, that will go a long way toward helping you decide what to say.  My
other question was "Where will this happen?"  Will this exhibit be in an
art museum, a history museum, a children's museum, or elsewhere?  In my
experience, exhibits never develop in a vacuum.  Perhaps choosing a context
for your exhibit to occur in will help you organize your themes.
