I'm looking for input on how we can provide a gift certificate for our
patrons.

We are part of a Museum Complex, this includes our Natural History Museum,
an IMAX Theater,&a Museum of Science, Economics and Technology. We share
a common concourse that includes admission and ticketing, our restaurant
area and two gift shops--but we are separate entities.

I am looking for ways we can issue a gift certificate that could be used
for admission in our Museum (separate from the other facilities), and also
at the gift shops and restaurants. This would require keeping a running
balance.

How are certificates dealt with at other museums?
