I think your personal feelings are clouding your logic in your statement -

"No, it is not wrong to deny this group--Boy Scouts--the use of publically
supported museums. If they refuse to allow the full and diverse public
membership in the organization, they forfeit that right."

Would you also deny a Christian or Jewish youth group admission because they
don't allow Muslim members?  Or for that matter deny a Girl Scout group
because they don't allow males?  And aren't you doing exactly the same thing
if you deny the Boy Scouts - refusing to allow the full and diverse public
access to your organization?

Public institutions are just that - open to the public.  I realize that at
some museums political advocacy is part of the corporate culture, but most
are cultural institutions - reflecting culture not creating or directing it
- and we're too busy trying to keep up up with the daily work of keeping the
doors open to have time for political advocacy outside of the protection of
our own existence.
