Thanks all for the response concerning my earlier rider question and
insurance.

I'd like to follow up those responses with another question to any list
members who have or who know who've had experience with the Chihuly Baskets
exhibit. My concerns regarding the contract and conditions for our museum have
been increased by some of the list responses to my earlier posting. I'm hoping
to contact other venues for this paricular exhibit and ask more questions.

Is it typical for a museum to insure an exhibit from the time it is "received
by the Museum and until the exhibition is delivered and accepted by the next
exhibition site"? This includes the stipulation that the exhibit is unpacked
and installed by other people/deinstalled and packed by other people - and
any damages are covered by the museums insurance? (I have heard tales of less
than adequate crates and packing) Perhaps I am "too worried" about the
contract stipulations but I have heard some cautionary tales concerning just
these issues and would like to personally speak with other venues that have
had this exhibit. We are excited about the exhibit but concerned about its
potential impact damage!

Thanks for any assistance!
