Introduction to Digital Imaging
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This workshop will focus on the basic scanning techniques. It will introduce cultural heritage institutions to the CDP scan standards, quality control and storage of image files. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with scan equipment to create scanned images. Lecture and hands on exercise. Attendees should review the Western States Digital Imaging Best Practices prior to attending the session.

Introduction to Metadata
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This workshop will focus on the creation of metadata for digital
objects. It will introduce cultural heritage institutions to the CDP metadata standards, creation of metadata records using MARC or Dublin Core. Attendees will be introduced to the Heritage and DCBuilder. Lecture and small group discussion will be included in this session. Attendees should familiarize themselves with the Western States Dublin Core Metadata Best Practices prior to attending the session.
