General Information Regarding Internship Programs
In accordance with the Autry National Centers initiative:

"To explore the experiences and perceptions of diverse peoples of the
American West, connecting the past with the present to inform our shared
future".

The Southwest Museum (part of the Autry National Center) is inviting
applicants to apply for Summer Internships.

Internships with the Southwest Museum/Autry National Center are full time
structured learning experiences.  The experience must be relevant to the
intern's academic and professional goals, and to research and museum
activities of the Institution.   An internship is performed under the
direct supervision of the Southwest Museum staff.

INTERNSHIPS

Subject to availability, internships are available in the following
departments:
Collections Management, Curatorial, and Education

Qualifications:  Internship opportunities are available for undergraduate,
graduate, and Ph.D. students who have an overall G.P.A. of 3.0 or its
equivalent.

Each applicant will be evaluated on their academic standing, scholarly
qualifications, experiences, and its suitability to the Southwest Museum
collections, facilities, and programs.

Applicants who are formally or informally related to a Native American
community, studying Native American studies, Native American History,
Museum Studies or enrolled at Tribal Colleges and Universities are
encouraged to apply.

current resume/CV, and a letter of interest stating why they feel they are
qualified for the internship and how it relates to their
career/professional goals.

Term:   8 weeks
Deadline: May 1 (postmark); starting June 7, ending August 7.
Salary:  Undergrad - $9.00 per hour/Grad student - $12.00 per hour
Stipend:   limited availability, up to $200/per week in addition to hourly
pay
