Museum-L participants:

Over the years that I have participated in this group I have
noticed the occasional post pondering whether a new list
should be formed where a specific topic range could be
focused on. Part of what makes Museum-L so valuable to me
is the wide range of topics delivered in the daily digest.
I've learned a lot from this list. However, I feel that a
group where topics can be discussed in greater detail would
be of value. That is why Freya Ventures is sponsoring the
Exhibit Technology Discussion Group. A short description of
the group is provided below. This is not a mailing list,
there are no subscriptions and you will not receive daily
e-mails from the group. You will need a web browser to view
this group, preferably one that supports frames. The
current versions of Netscape or Explorer should work well.

The Freya Ventures web site also has information on our
products and services as well as a "resource page" which
will be a growing list of links to manufacturers, designers,
associations, publications and other web sites. Currently
the resource page contains information limited to companies
and associations in the US, because thats where Freya
Ventures does business. However, I often see posts from
Canada, UK, Australia and other countries on Museum-L and I
extend an invitation to professionals from all nationalities
to participate and I will add international links on the
resources page as I become aware of them. For those who are
interested, our growth will allow Freya Ventures to begin
looking for projects in Canada and Mexico this year.
(...Hmmm... my brother lives in Australia...)

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

**************** ANNOUNCEMENT ****************

Freya Ventures announces the formation of the Exhibit
Technology Discussion Group.

This group is a forum where exhibit professionals can
discuss the various technologies used in interactive
exhibits. This is an un-moderated group so topics may vary
widely, however some examples of discussions could include:

Touch-screen vs. mouse.
How do visitors react to hi-tech exhibits?
Questions regarding specific products and how they hold up
in actual use.
"Nuts and bolts" questions on fabricating interactives
in-house.

Product manufacturers, and exhibit design/fabrication firms
are invited to participate in these discussions.
Information on products and services may be posted to the
group in response to a discussion thread. Brief
announcements of new products or services that pertain to
exhibit technology are encouraged.

Please feel free to leave an introductory post when you
visit the Exhibit Technology Discussion Group.
