I just had to chime in here. Over about the last week, and it shows no
signs of cooling down yet, the calligraphy mailing list I belong to has
been having a heated debate over the artistic / craft merit (or lack
thereof) of - you guessed it - graffiti! Perhaps you need to have your bit
of defacement - oops, I mean art - or do I? - evaluated by the local art
police - oops, do I mean conservator? before you destroy - oops, I mean
remove - or do I mean preserve? - it.

Sorry I don't have anything useful to contribute on the subject. Just take
comfort in the thought that somebody, somewhere, thinks you have a
priceless work of art on your walls.
