An observation.  Few art museums have responded on this thread.  Those that
have, focus on _appraise_ as the operative.  In history museums appraise and
_authentic_ seem to be used proportionally.  The natural history museums use
authentic almost exclusively.
 
Just an observation, but to must of us I guess that it was obvious.  This
trichotomy has always intrigued me.
