CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites is seeking a Chief Executive
Officer to lead a cultural institution that interprets and exhibits
Indiana's cultural history, natural history and art.

The CEO must be an excellent communicator, a dynamic leader and a strategic
thinker with an entrepreneurial focus.  The Museum is a public/private
partnership, funded by a State appropriation with additional financial
support from the Indiana State Museum Foundation.  Experience in successful
business planning, organizational development, program development, fund-
raising and facility management is required.  Their management style must
foster cross-disciplinary collaborative decision making both internally and
externally.  Knowledge of best museum practices related to collections care
and management, educational programming, exhibit development, marketing and
public relations is
 preferred.

A successful candidate must have the ability to lead in a complex work
environment and possess strong ethical standards particular to matters
related to the public trust.
