The Collections Management Internship will encompass artifact records management, cataloging, documentation, handling, and inventory, to include:

·     Processing and management of museum records, including Deeds of Gift, Receipts of Objects, and other tracking documents;

·     Cataloging artifacts into FileMaker collections database;

·     Basic inventory of collections;

· Handling, tagging, and re-housing of artifacts in the Museum’s off-site storage facility.

Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate-level Museum Studies program and possess strong time-management, communication, and organizational skills. Applicant must be available 20 hours per week, January 2011 through April 2011. Although public transportation is available, having own transportation will be helpful.

If interested, please submit a letter of interest, resume, and a list of three references to Vanya Scott, Volunteer Program Manager, at [log in to unmask], by Monday, December 6, 2010.
