To Whom It May Concern:

The American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming has recently prepared an addition to its Traveling Exhibit Program that we hope will prove of interest to your institution. The exhibit consists of 29 framed watercolor paintings documenting the coast to coast journey across the United States of English gentleman and artist Thomas Kennet-Were in 1868-69. During his travels Kennet-Were created field studies and watercolors of scenes he encountered, a portion of which are included in this exhibit. Also included are excerpts from Kennet-Were's journals describing his impressions of the United States and its citizens.
The exhibit contains 29 17"x20" metal frames with U.V. Plexiglass shielding covering the paintings and is designed to hang in a secure gallery space. While there is no charge for the exhibit itself, each institution wishing to display the paintings must agree to provide suitable shipping, both too and from their institution, and provide adequate insurance coverage during possession, including shipping. In addition a facilities report documenting the environmental and security conditions under which the paintings will be housed and displayed will be required of every institution before exhibition of the paintings can be granted.
We sincerely hope this exhibit is of interest to your institution and I am prepared to more fully discuss any questions or concerns you might have regarding it, and to provide whatever information you might need to aid in your decision and scheduling. Please feel free to contact me using the contact information provided and on behalf of the American Heritage Center I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

William L. Hopkins
