Position Title:  Associate Professor of History (tenure-track position
in American History and Holocaust Education)
Kennesaw State University
Kennesaw (Atlanta Metro Area), Georgia

Qualifications and Responsibilities:  The Department of History and
Philosophy at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a
tenure-track position in American History and Holocaust Education at the
rank of associate professor. The position will include three main
responsibilities: (1) teaching in American history, (2) serving as an
exhibition coordinator and curator, and (3) fundraising for special
projects. Candidates with a Ph.D. in American history or American
studies, with a secondary field in Holocaust studies, public history, or
women's history would be welcomed. A successful candidate will have a
minimum of five years of teaching at the university level, a minimum of
two years working as a museum curator, and a proven track record of
coordinating and fundraising for special projects. Evidence of
excellence in teaching and scholarship, collegiality, willingness to
engage in professional service and collaborate with other cultural
institutions in the region and throughout the nation, and strong
commitment to student-faculty interaction in a liberal arts university
environment is required. Interdisciplinary interests are also highly
desired.  
 
Application Procedure:  To guarantee consideration, application
materials must be postmarked by July 15, 2005 . A complete application
includes: (1) a letter of application addressing the candidate's
qualifications, teaching philosophy, and scholarship activity; (2) a
current curriculum vitae; (3) three letters of reference; (4) copies of
all graduate transcripts. Official transcripts will be required prior to
