I am currently a student in the Museum Studies masters program at JFK
University. I am now in the process of researching a topic in the field of
Collections Management dealing with study collections. My paper will be
exploring ideas of how discourse changes when objects in study collections
or in storage are viewed without lables, curators views, context etc.The
dialogue now begins with the viewer rather than the curator or
institution.

I would appreciate any advice on source material dealing with the subject
of study collections or opening up storage areas for both scholars and the
general public. Though not my primary focus, any ideas concerning the
internet and the digitizing of collections and how this makes museums more
accessible would be helpful as well. However Study collections (such as
the Luce) are my primary interest.

Please also note that my name is Dwyer Brown and that this e-mail address
is my wife's. Thankyou.
