28TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE
March 16-22, 2000 - Pittsburgh

The 28th annual conference of the Art Libraries Society of North America
will be held in Pittsburgh, PA, March 16-22, 2000.  Many programs and tours
of interest to art historians and educators have been scheduled for this
years conference. The 1999 Carnegie International exhibition will be on view
during the run of the conference.  Register today and join us in Pittsburgh

This session will examine the often overlooked leadership contribution of
women in the art pottery field and their influence on the Arts & Crafts
Movement.

"Creative Multiples: Artists' Books as Teaching Tools"
This session explores the many ways in which artists' books can be used to
teach students in art and design schools.

"Real or Not: Virtual Reading - Virtual Artists' Books"
This session explores many facets of a new genre for producing art brought
about by the internet, virtual artists' books.

"Collecting and Managing Time: Andy Warhol's Time Capsules"
This session will examine Andy Warhol as an archivist, the history of his
time capsules, and how they are used by researchers."

"Wrought of Steel and Philanthropy: The Forging of Andrew Carnegie's
Cultural Legacy"
"Glass in the Ohio Valley: Aspects of Material Culture and Decorative Arts,
Past and Present"
