I am working with a museum that is VERY small in terms of staff (all volunteer) and budget. Their museum is located in an old, three-story, high school building with high ceilings and long, narrow windows in all the rooms. They have collections in all the rooms but no window coverings. They are open very limited hours and would like to put window coverings up that would be opened just for the few hours they are open to the pubic. The question is, what would work best in terms of keeping light levels down, room darkening shades or venetian blinds? Are there definite advantages or disadvantages with either of these methods? Or are there any other suggestions? Thank you for your help!
