Director of Development--Available Immediately

National historic patriotic society headquartered in Washington, DC
invites applications for the exciting new position of Director of
Development to organize, implement and direct and evolving fund-raising
program.  Emphasis on identification, cultivation, solicitation, and
stewardship of annual, planned, and major gifts.

Applicant must have:  demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships;
knowledge of legal and tax implications of charitable gifts;  strong oral
and written communication abilities; familiarity with donor data base
systems;  ability to coordinate and motivate volunteers.

Minimum qualifications:  bachelor's degree; 3-5 years experience in
fund-raising including major gift solicitation, annual and planned
giving.
