In terms of information on the 1851 Exhibition, probably the best place
to begin is
 
John E. Findling and Kimberley D. Pelle, eds. _Historical Dictionary of
World's Fairs and Expositions, 1851-1988_ New York: Greenwood Press, 1990.
 
It includes brief descriptions of the major fairs and expositions and
each of these includes a bibliography.
 
You might also want to try, aside from Robert Rydell's excellent works,
 
Richard Altick, _The Shows of London_ Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard UP, 1978.
 
As international expositions and world's fairs are a special interest of
mine, I have a fairly extensive bibliography of work on them. Write to me
