this is an announcement for a forthcoming Social History Curators Group
seminar: Military Matters!

Military Matters! Militaria collections and their interpretation.
The Royal Armouries, Leeds, England.
Monday 2nd June 1997.

This seminar will look at ways of interpreting militaria in museums.
From nationals like the Royal Armouries to small regimental and local
authority museums.  It will cover such topics as access, education and
interpretation.

Speakers include Andy Robertshaw from the National Army Museum, who look
at the educational opportunites of using a militaria collection.
Vaughan Allen of the Royal Armouries on Peace Studies.   Alisdair Wilson
of Newcastle Discovery on the Soldier's Life exhibition and Angela
Kelsall from Derby City Museums on using IT to improve access to the
militaria collection.

12 pounds members, 7 pounds unwaged members and 22 pounds non-members.
