People from each province will have their own opinions. There is a lot to
chose from depending upon your interests. Here are a few.

MANITOBA
*Museum of Man and Nature in Winning
*Lower Fort Garry National Historic Park just north of Winnipeg (Upper Fort
Garry is in downtown Winnipeg and only the stone gate is left)

SASKATCHEWAN
Off Yellowhead Highway:
* Batoche National Historic Site (site of former Metis village and
battlefield of the 1885 Northwest Rebellion. Louis Riel, Gabriel Dumont and
all that. A MUST visit place for Canadians!!!!!!!! Forget the French-English
politics (remember, although many people think of it as a French-English
struggle, there were French speaking people fighting on BOTH sides of the
battle and the struggle was really the local people in a territory vs. the
Government of Canada. Just feel and enjoy the history and scenery. This
place has FEELING!  I worked there, and one really walks in history there.
*Battleford National Historic Site (1870s-1920s North West Mounted police
fort/post. 1885 Northwest Rebellion highlights, beautiful vistas) I worked
there too.

Off TransCanada Highway # 1:
*Western Development Museum (several branches e.g. Saskatoon, & Moose Jaw)
*RCMP Museum, Regina
*Fort Walsh (SE Corner of Sask near Maple Creek )

ALBERTA
*Reynolds Alberta Museum and separate Reynolds Aviation Museum, Wetaskiwin
(large collections of farm machinery, aircraft and military vehicles) (I
have only seen photos of these museums but they are impressive)
*Glenbow Museum (Glenbow-Alberta Institue) Calgary
*Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, Drumheller (Dinosaurs galore!)
*Ukranian Cultural Heritage Village (I have not visited it, but have heard
good things about it).
*Fort Edmonton, Edmonton
*Heritage Park Historical Village, Calgary (about 300 acres?)
*Museum of the Regiments, Calgary

There are also many art museums, etc. etc. See if you can get hold of a
Canadian Museums Association Directory or search online under the Museum
Associations.
