The Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies is now recruiting for a Museum Program Specialist to manage our museum schools program and initiate Smithsonian Institution-wide programs to serve the District of Columbia Public Schools.  This is a Federal position, GS-1001-9/11, with a salary range between $35,310 - $42, 724. Selective Factors for this position are:  
1.  Ability to design, plan and oversee implementation of professional development and curriculum development.
2.  Ability to collaborate with culturally and professionally diverse groups.
3.  Knowledge of education, museum studies and national education standards.

Candidates must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.  Specialized experience is experience which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.  

To qualify based on education: 
GS-9: two full years of progressively higher level graduate education or Master's or equivalent degree; 

GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree related to the position may be substituted for the specialized experience.
