According to the Bishop Museum, sewing IS NOT an appropriate way to mount
tapa. Try their web site, they have great instructions for making custom
mounts for tapa. <http://www.bishopmuseum.org/research/pdfs/cnsv-tapa.pdf>

If you don't want to do this yourself, contact me off list and I'll give
you the name of someone in Aukland who used to tapa repair and mounting.
