In 2001, an LAPD crime scene photographer (if I remember correctly--there
was a huge article in the New Yorker at the time) went through the LAPD
archives and developed an exhibit of crime scene photographs, mostly from
the 30s and 40s showing a very LA Confidential/ Raymond Chandler image of
LA. It premiered at a gallery in LA and was travelling the country- I
remember Duke University was one. I think there was a catalogue- I remember
ripping out the citation for a Christmas gift for a cop friend. The exhibit
got great reviews--- maybe some of your images might be old enough to do
something like this?

The photos were also used as part of the opening sequence of a cop TV show
at the time.
