It seems to always be a good idea to secure shelves to walls if you can,
but then again i live in an earthquake zone, so that seems automatic to
me. I am a big fan of Equipto shelving units as they are very easy to
assemble, have high weight loads, and have sort of mix and match parts
if you need to move them in the future.

Also, i would suggest using pieces of acid free board or trays if you
can for objects even if the shelves are archival (i prefer using
standard sizes and making the sides the same depth as my ruler is wide
for quick assembly, lined in volara for really fragile pieces) . it adds
an extra layer of padding, keeps objects from bumping into one another,
and gives a better method of picking them up, reducing handling while
giving visual and physical access to the object. (It catches little
fragments also, should the piece be sheddy, or flakey or have any sort
of loose pieces.)
