The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a Development Assistant for the Annual Giving & Travel Program and the Donor Information Systems area of the Development Department. In both of these areas of the Development Office, the Development Assistant is responsible for administrative support and day-to-day project management, and is also involved in longer-term projects as needed. For the Annual Giving and Travel Programs, responsibilities include drafting acknowledgement letters and gift posting, and general clerical duties. For the Donor Information Systems area, responsibilities include assisting in the daily maintenance and usage of technology; providing training to Development staff; producing daily, weekly and some ad-hoc reports; and serving as a liaison with the Information Services and Technology helpdesk. Ideal candidates must have excellent PC skills (Microsoft Office) and an interest in technology; the ability to multi-task; good problem solving skills; and clear communication skills, both written and verbal. A college degree is required. Prior knowledge of fundraising systems and databases is preferred.
