Eric, and anyone else still bothering to follows this *warp* (or is that
*woof*?)

I'm surprised that the obvious and traditional curatorial solution has not
received more attention, which is to keep them (the visigoths) and everyone else
"at the gate" where they can reflect upon their material and cultural past
without the iterative interference of a scatered sampling of objects
elevated to relevance by the gate keepers.

as to being "agents of social reproduction", I'm glad to see Eric has his
tongue firmly planted in his cheek again ;-)

Yes!

As much or more so, than that they are *agents of social change* -- as many
of us strove to believe for years -- sex in the diorama has more to do with
*gender role transmission* and the submisive/dominant manifestation of the
curatorial stereo-paradox-imperative but no doubt can be connected with just
about anything if we care to make the effort.
