ATTENTION ALL SEMC MEMBERS

If you have an idea for a session topic for the 1998 meeting in Little
Rock, NOW is the time to pull together a proposal and send it to the SEMC
Central Office in Baton Rouge. The Program Committee is meeting on March
13 to finalize the program. All members were sent a proposal form. If you
need one call the SEMC office at 504-383-5042.

Please remember that we will be selecting sessions from proposals that are
complete. That means the proposal includes the names of all participating
and a budget, if expense is expected. All participants should be committed
at time of submission of the proposal.

Some session topics that are partially completed but have strong interest
are:

Major Capital Campaigns: Director, Staff, Development Consultant, and Board
views. Each individual may be from different campaigns from different
institutions.

Accreditation in specialized museums: railroad or transportation, small
historic house museums, living collections, and others.

Museum programs that are absolutely consistent with the museum's mission
and build public and government support.

Museum education programs that are viewed by the general public and
educational community as effective in helping communities meet
general educational goals.

This isn't all of the initial ideas at all. I hope that it will help SEMC
members formulate their ideas, make the necessary calls, and get those
proposals to the Central Office in time for the March 13th meeting.

Thanks for your help.
