One of the most incredible series of taxidermy fakes was contained in an
art exhibit. I saw this exhibit at the Moore College of Art. I presented
the life work of the fictional Dr. Ameisenhaufen. The exhibit included
biographical information, field notes photographs, x-rays, even field
recordings of the calls of the various fantastic animals described by
Dr. Ameisenhaufen. A catalog, Dr. Ameisenhaufen's FAUNA was produced to
accompany the exhibit. This was written by Joan Fontcuberta and Pere
Formiguera, 1988.
