Dear Museum Colleagues -

The staff member who handles security for The Smart Museum asked me
to inquire about which museum security manuals are used by other
institutions, especially museums that are similar to us. We are a
university art museum with a permanent collection of about 10,000
objects, a staff of about 20, a guard corps of university students
trained in-house, and a roughly 30,000 sq. ft. building with
approximately 8,700 sq. ft. of gallery space. She is looking for a
manual that covers basic museum security and addresses guard training
issues, but any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated. Please
send any responses off-list to me at: [log in to unmask]

Thank you very much in advance! - Jennifer Moyer
