The Kresge Art Museum, the art museum on the campus of Michigan State
University, East Lansing, Michigan, has an opening for a museum intern for
ten months (full-time) beginning in September 1996. The internship is
designed to provide a broad experience in all facets of museum work rather
than in any specific field.  The intern participates in exhibition
development,assists in curating the collection, writes grants, works with
registration and computer data entyr. The intern also gains experience in
public relations and educational programming.

Applicants need to have completed some graduate work in the history of art
and preferably have taken museum studies courses or have some museum
experience and must plan a museum career.

The stipend is $13,000 plus medical benefits.  Faculty housing on campus is
a possibility.
