Sandra,

After reading your question, I called a colleague over at the National Park
Service's Land, Resources and Planning division for the National Capital
Region, and she said that the only way the National Park Service can
partner with a museum is by Act of Congress. She suggested that it might
be easier for a museum to partner with a local city/county government,
though, using city land and/or a city owned building.

You might consider contacting the National Building Museum (202-272-2448).
They are a not-for-profit museum that is located in a building owned by the
Government Services Administration. Speaking with them may be helpful.

Best of luck in your search for information.

Helo all-

I am looking for models in which a museum partners with a government entity
and creates a Memo of Understanding concerning land use, construction
and/or shared responsibility for operaton costs.

If anyone has a sample document they are able to share I would greatly
appreciate it. We are exploring how a relationship with City govt could be
designed in the above areas to benefit both parties.

Any advice or lessons learned would also be appreciated!
