We have a similar event occuring in May and thank you so much for asking
your question. I am in the education dept at the Historical Museum of
Southern Florida in Miami. Because we have such a diverse cultural mix down
here we are going to set up a video camera where people can come and "tell
their story" using some oral history techniques, we are going to make this
otherwise potential logistic nightmare, hopefully work. We are also going
to do a storytelling journal for kids, in which we put together a small
book full of story starters based on our key artifacts (cannon, trolley,
etc) I always say be creative as you possibly can....we will see how it
goes! Good luck and I hope I helped. One other thing...music tells a great
story also, African drumming, is always a crowd pleaser and the kids love
it!
