The George M. Cunha "Deacidification Cocktail" that I use involves Phillips
Milk of Magnesia and club soda (2 liter bottle).  The recipe is effective
provided that (1) clippings do not have INK notations (felt tip, ballpoint,
etc.); (2) the clippings are NOT fragile (flaking, breaking, etc.); (3) the
clippings are not in color or backed by color ads.
 
One caution:  (1) do NOT soak for one hour (you'd end up with paper mache);
soak long enough to saturate the clipping (1-3 minutes).
