Well said! I too have gone that long haul route, and my job is more fun
now than when I first started. Still, I don't mind seeing the job
postings because it is from there that I can hire someone, "a fresh
face," right out of graduate school to help me do a knock-out job at my
museum. And if that person needs to go on to another job because our
museum can't afford to pay any higher, or I wasn't persuasive enough with
the director to increase her/his salary, then I understand. I'll give
that person all the support and encouragement I can, especially if I am
asked. Like Jeannine said, do not be offended by advice that might well
be of use to you in the future.

And thanks to Noelle for pointing out the various places where one can
find a job. There are plenty of listings out there, you just have to
find the right fit, and it's always been that way.

I seem to remember we had this thread going for a few months last year,
so if anyone is curious about the way that went just check out the
Museum-L Archives on the list server - check John's postings about your
Museum-L subscription on how to get in there. There were no winners, few
solutions, but the way life goes, it always comes out right in the end.
