Dana Kauai Iki Olores is currently an intern at the Bishop Museum,
Honolulu, Hawaii, as a Native Hawaiian learning museum collection care
practices. This fall, he will be travelling on the Mainland, visiting
museums with collections of Pacific materials (Smithsonian, etc), and also
tribal museums in the Northwest and Southwest. He would be interested in
visiting to discuss NAGPRA, and differences of approach in structure,
funding, interpretation and collection practices of tribal vs non-native
museums. If you represent or know of a tribal museum that would be of
interest to Kauai Iki, please drop a line, as he is beginning to plan his
itinerary.
