Cindy makes many good points.  I would simply counter that the presence of
Holocaust museums does not seem to have deterred the Holocaust deniers.
And even among people who take material evidence seriously, multiple
interpretations are always possible.

(Of course, once the material evidence is gone, reasoned interpretations
become more difficult, and unreasonable ones easier.)
