The Microcomputer Museum will be a 25,000 square foot facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico that tells the story of the development of the microcomputer through exhibits, multimedia and interactive experiences and supports a rich educational program. The project manager will oversee all of the coordination aspects of the project and move it from concept and schematic design through all the major phases to completion in an efficient and effective manner. 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Project Manager reports to the Manager of Design Development in the Creative Services Department and is responsible for organizing, coordinating, managing and tracking all aspects of the development and implementation for this facility.
We seek an individual with outstanding organizational and logistical planning skills and a proven mastery of the project development process, who can sustain and maintain the integrity of this project.
The ideal candidate has a history of outstanding achievement in the development of complex projects, and can manage the balance between internal and external resources resulting in projects that deliver upon fiscal and visionary expectations. 

Essential duties and responsibilities 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

·Sustain and maintain high performance teams by keeping the focus on the goals and objectives for the project and ensure that all functioning areas are working effectively toward these goals.
·Provide leadership, coordination and direction for the internal and external resources required to realize this project. 
·Develop a staffing plan
·Work with the various Vulcan departments to define tasks and track progress with the teams in following areas and disciplines -Concept development, Exhibit design development, Multimedia, Collections, Architectural design, Technology, Real Estate, Finance, Foundations, Government Affairs, and Marketing and others, as the project requires.
·Develop and maintain detailed integrated project schedules
·Maintain and track the overall project budget
·Provide clear and timely communication regarding project status and opportunities

Qualifications

Experience:
·Bachelor's degree required plus proven experience in project development and management. Experience in construction, technology, exhibit design, arts management, program implementation and development of cultural and/or education projects and attractions.
·Five to Seven years of senior management experience managing multidisciplinary projects
·Demonstrated ability to successfully complete complex projects on time and within budget.
·Demonstrated experience and skills in forging excellent partnerships.
·Understanding of software programming and computer technology and a thorough knowledge of the historic and technical aspects of the development of the Microcomputer. 
·Demonstrated team building and team leadership capabilities
·Ability to communicate clear direction and maintain high leadership standards during intense and stressful development cycles. 
·Excellent verbal, written, computer and oral presentation skills. 
·Ability to act as Company's representative to the community and in high-level negotiations and presentations.
·Willingness to work in an intense, fast-paced environment with time-sensitive and budget-sensitive constraints.
