If space constraints allow, I prefer flat storage with the edges padded with
wadded acid-free tissue. If they must be rolled, we use 4-6" diameter tubes
covered with polyethylene foam, with acid-free tissue between the layers.

Subject: Storing Tube-Shaped Textiles

I would like to hear from the list members who have tube-shaped textiles
in their collections, such as sarongs (Indonesia) and pha sins
(Thailand) to learn how these textiles are stored, such as flat with
edges padded out (with what?), rolled onto tubes (diameter) or hanging
on rods/tubes (material used; diameter) or ? Any information would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
