Dear listers,
Thanks for making this possible.
I am installing an exhibit which opens November 9, 2001. The opening
panel is an 8 x 8 screen with slide images from 3 projectors. I have
done this a couple of times before (1980 and 1991) but the technology
has changed a bit and I can't find (remember) a crucial part at Federal
Surplus, on eBay, net, or Radio Shack. And, my memory of what I did then

is overlaid with a jumble of other exhibits.
The way its supposed to work, I think, is this. Visitors trigger, via a
motion detector with outlets, a tape player with a recorded loop
tape. The tape player sends the signals to the Dove X controller, which
in turn runs the three projectors. The motion detector is "on" for only
a period and then opens/closes the circuit and is ready for the next
guest.
The problem is with the motion detector/tape player. It used to be one
machine - I believe called a Cam Talker. It sensed the presence of a
visitor and played the tape to a point where a 3-4 second lapse (no
signals) was programed. It would shut off the power to the Dove and,
consequently to the projectors.
I have the Chief stand, projectors, short throw lens, Dove X, tape
player and rear projection screen. All I need is to find a way to
program the tape for the Dove to read and motion detector with outlets.
The tricky parts are programing the pause between shows and timing the
motion detector.
Any A/V exhibit folks out there that I might talk to that aren't
totally involved
with new technology - which I can't afford - or find at Federal Surplus?

Thanks,
