A few years ago the National Air and Space Museum published a series of
conservation manuals for aircraft, etc. I don't know if there are any around.
You might contact Helen Morrill, the editor at 202/357-1552.

Hello All,
I am interested in what must be taken into consideration when caring
for historic aircraft in aviation museums. Specifically, what are
some of the common practices involved with aircraft care and what are
some of the concerns with aircraft care and storage (corrosion,
warping, pest damage, etc.)? All responses are welcome: the more the
merrier! If any of you know of some contacts I could reach or any
published information available on the subject, please let me know. I
will be more than gratefull. Thank you all.
       Regards,
