Apart from whether anyone else has the right to read your mail, you
should always be aware that other people may read it accidentally, so
you should not write anything which would cause problems if it became
known.

When I was managing a museum's computer system I occasionally had to
redirect mail messages which ended up in a dead letter box because the
sender had mis-typed the name or address of the recipient. I normally
just corrected these quietly and sent them on their way, but I had to
look at the contents to do so. Some were very private, but my lips are
sealed!
