and to top it off (no pun intended) the amanita muscaria is one of
the more popular candidates for the vedic "soma," and used in
shamanic initiation....  what kind of luck are we talking about here?
 a germanic peyote cult?  (i think this mushroom is also one of the
more stretching-it explanation for the alternate to Little Red Riding
Hood, Little Red Cap.  yup, grandma was the mentor and the wolf was
red's spirit guide.)
