The Medicine Hat Museum and Art Gallery is seeking a Collections Move
Preparator for an 18 week (36.25 hours per week) term of engagement
between May 2 and Sept. 2, 2005.  Duties include completing condition
reports on museum artefacts, packing collections for transport, and
maintaining inventories.  This position requires excellent attention to
detail, manual dexterity, some lifting, and the ability to stand on a
variety of surfaces (including concrete) for extended periods of
time--computer database skills (particularly with InMagic Textworks) is
an asset.  Minimum education requirements are two years at an accredited
institution in anthropology/archaeology, geology, biology, history, or a
related field--relevant training and/or experience may be considered
instead.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 months'
experience in cleaning, describing, inventorying and storing archival,
biological, geological, historical OR archaeological collections.

Rate of pay: $10.00 per hour.
