Gretchen-Very interesting...I also have a cd pen and will give it a try. 
(were you able to put a top coat of the same medium on it?

I did check with my mentor and she recommended I use Soluvar Varnish or 
acrylic matte medium.  I will try my Kaiser CD pen to see if that works. She 
said using a top coat that is the same as the bottom coat doesn't work 
because if you need to make a slight change to the number you have taken off 
the whole thing and have to start from scratch. Where as if you use two 
different materials you can take off the top coat and the number leaving the 
bottom coat intact.

Thank you to everyone who has given some input on this subject. I really 
appreciate the advice.
