My two-bits of advice:
Two years ago in June, I went on a guided tour of Sorrento (which is
absolutely gorgeous) and then a guided tour of Pompeii (which was amazing).
However, I went on a national holiday. I spent more time in traffic then at
either of the places combined. A regularly 30 minute drive between Naples
and Sorrento became a never ending two and half hour drive. I spent 45
minutes in a tunnel. So...my advice make sure it isn't a national holiday
(and they have quite a few in June). If it is, skip Sorrento and just visit
Pompeii. I truly regret that I only had an hour at Pompeii.

Subject: National Archaeological Museum of Naples/Pompeii?

Hi all,

I know, I know... I am asking travel advice.

Does anyone know anything about the National Archaeological Museum of
Naples/Pompeii?

I will be there in June and have my choice of being on a guided tour of
Pompeii (Sorrento - cheese and wine & lunch on own) OR a self-guided tour of
Pompeii and then see the museum (pizza and Naples). I am torn. The time
differences are about the same, so is the price.
