I agree with Randy on this subject.

I will share my last experience on Second Life.  I ended up in some resort
community in South Florida.  I was chatting with a couple of newbies like
myself.  The next thing I see them one by one shooting upwards like they
were headed to the moon (maybe it was the conversation).  I'm not sure if
they ever made it back -- they could still be  up there.

I started experimenting with my avatar and the next thing you know I am
out of control and flying high and end up landing in the Everglades.  I
was afraid the gators might get me.  I got the heck out of Second Life it
scared me.

I am sure there are many others that have rich and rewarding experiences
on Second Life.
