Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) houses the Cincinnati History Museum,
Cinergy Children’s Museum, Cincinnati Historical Society Library, Museum of
Natural History and Science and the Robert D. Lindner OMNIMAX&#61666; Theater.
Museum Center is located in the historic Art Deco train station, Union
Terminal and hosts 1 million visitors each year.

Museum Center seeks a highly creative and energetic educator to develop new
initiatives that will lead the institution into the 21st century.  The
Director of Public Programs and Education will manage a comprehensive
program that supports exhibitions, research and outreach efforts through
public programs including concerts, lectures, film series, family
activities, teacher workshops, docent-led tours and directing the exhibit
floor staff.  The Director will report to the President and CEO and
supervise a staff of 54.  S/he will develop and administer a budget of $1.8
million, and is expected to contribute to the overall development of CMC
through participation in relevant project teams and committees.

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in education or museum
studies with a minimum of ten years experience in the development of
multifaceted educational programs in a museum environment and demonstrated
expertise in the creation of memorable experiences for a broad public
audience.  S/he will have exemplary skills in a variety of presentation
formats, program and exhibition development processes and high-performance
team leadership.  The position also requires strong interpersonal and
communication skills and budgetary experience.
