We are being questioned on what appears to be an axe head from the.
Orange/Ulster County area of NY. We dont' have the piece but being
asked if we know what it is. It is roughly 5 1/2 inches long, stone,
and about 2 inches wide at its widest width going down to a sharper
point. The wide end is rounded and in that area the maker made
a hole, we are figuring for a handle to fit through...making a pretty
powerful ax/weapon is what I am thinking. Has anyone seen these
type of stones in the New York area? I do have a photo I could send.
Thanks in advance.
